Upcountry Snowshoes is a small company dedicated to continuing the tradition of handcrafting wooden snowshoes. From selecting the right white ash tree to steaming and bending our own frames, hand lacing with braided nylon or neoprene, then finishing with a waterproof varnish, our shoes are built to last. With a minimum of off-season maintenance, our snowshoes will be passed on to the next generation. For those with traditional hide-laced shoes, we also repair and recondition.
Our “H” and "Mountain H" style snowshoe harness is made of neoprene. Neoprene is reinforced with nylon, and is completely weather-proof. It won’t stretch or sag after being wet, and won’t split when it dries out. We have positioned the rivets with flat side down so they won’t rub on your boots. Our harnesses are fully adjustable to fit from a woman’s size 5 boot to a man’s size 13. We know you’ll love ‘em. Also available are Flexi rubber bindings and "A" style bindings.
